A little Girl and a Magical Brownie

She heard a noise.
It sounded like a clatter.
She knew it wasn't a latter.
When she looked about,
nothing appeared.

Except for the tiny
eyes that leered at her
from around the corner.

From past experiences, the little
girl learned,
that Mommy and Daddy
wouldn't believe
that there was a tiny brownie.

No, not the kind of chocolate you eat.
But a little creature. With big ears,
and big hands. Who liked to clean,
and loved sweets.

So now  little girl tip-toed out to the kitchen,
where she could find little trinkets.
She first lit a golden candle,
and the brownie followed the light.

It was bright enough that the little girl who was  bigger than a kid, could see the Brownie,
and she spoke softly,

"Here, thank you, I remember what you love."
Quickly the Brownie went up to her, and replied even softer,
"Thank you."

And in a flash the Brownie was gone, and the little girl went to bed.
She knew she was too old, but she also knew that if she could still see magical creatures, then she wouldn't stop believing, no matter how old she got.

The Forgotten Poppy Fairy-Witch of Oz

Everybody knows the story of Dorothy, from the Wizard of Oz.  They also know the story of how The Wicked Witch made Dorothy fall asleep in the field of poppies. What they didn't know, was that there was a fourth witch. She was  a Poppy Fairy-Witch, who looked after the poppy fields and all of the other flowers in Oz.

On the day that Dorothy was asleep,  the little Poppy Fairy-Witch flew about her field. She was saddened by what had happened to Oz, and knew the  Wicked Witch when she was nice.  Oz was still beautiful in its own way, but the poppy fields had turned ugly.  Luckily the sleeping potion didn't effect the Poppy Fairy-Witch ,  so she flew around the fields.

She slowly healed each and everyone of the poppies, and even gained  a little bit of help from the Good Witch.  Eventually,  the little poppy fairy discovered Dorothy, the Lion, the Tin man, and the Scarecrow fast asleep in the fields.

The thing that stuck out to her the most, was of course, Dorothy's red ruby slippers. The Poppy Fairy -Witch had heard many tales from the Munchkins of the Ruby Slippers.  Some thought the Ruby Slippers could bring more humans into their world, and others thought the shoes were designed to save Oz.

However, the Poppy Fairy-
Witch didn't find those stories very satisfying.. so she did what any curious little fairy witch would do, and flew up to Dorothy's feet. Which, were  gigantic.

She pulled out her little Poppy Wand, and just tapped the shoes twice.  Dorothy stirred a little, but didn't wake. So, the Poppy Fairy-Witch called into her wand to Glenda, the Good Witch,

"My powers are too little to save her! Please wake her!"

Only moments later, Glenda responded sending out a  few of her bubbles to wake up Dorothy and her friends. As they slowly woke up,  the little Poppy Fairy-Witch started fluttering away, but before she went,
  she whispered

"Dorothy! Keep safe, and your little dog too!" With that she fluttered away, and watched the strange group of creatures walk towards the Wizard of Oz.

It is safe to say, that if the little Poppy-Witch hadn't been there that day, then Oz wouldn't have been saved, and the Wicked Witch would not have melted. So the true message of the story is,  just because some people are little, doesn't mean they can't do great things in the world!

A Day Exploring and Hiking the land of Gotland's Troll and Fairy homes!!

Today was a much slower paced day in Visby Gotland.

The Island Gotland!! Our View :)
My family and I  took a tour of the area we are staying in and  the surroundings.  The land is gorgeous with poppy flowers that make you wish you could leap over them, and tiny little thistle flowers  where one could hope  to spot  a fairy, or  a troll.

The Baltic Sea is also fantastic.  The sunlight shines down on it,  and all day it looks like the sea is sparkling and  the rocks near the shore are homes to seagulls, swans, and possibly some mermaids.. you never know...

Our own backyard is a Fairy Palace in itself,  with many daisies, tree houses, and a birdcage that is actually  a swing!
Swans!!

Fairy Home!

On the rocky beach,  we found  a crab shell,   a fossil that looked like it was part of a horn at one point. A troll horn, that is.

For the first time I experienced wild swans! They were am
azing,  a mother swan and  a baby swan, just minding their own business.

Inside our cabin is more like the inside of a nature palace.

It has smooth wooden floors, tables, and an outside deck to set on and to enjoy both the sunshine our beautiful Nature filled view.

The favorite room of everybody's seems to be the bathroom. It is an almost old style Downtown Abbey's  bathroom.
It has a beautiful tube,  a shower, and it too has big bay windows that look over the backyard.
