The Gift of Magical Music

The crowd starts out small. Then his music notes hit the park like whispers. Faeries gather, first one by one then two by two. Then finally the ground is filled.
Little fairies try to catch the music notes that float past them in the air. To them he is a god. Somebody who can  take all their troubles away.
When Innocent plays, the fairies go into a trance. It is the one magical tune that even brings a twinkle to his dark black eyes and it is the only time you will ever see a dimple on his face.

When the magical song ends he bows his head, not knowing how many faeries love him and could sway to him all day.

His name is a mystery to the outside world, but if the humans knew who he was it would surely disappoint the magical committee.
They want to keep him as their own.  As they like to say,  fame isn't everything.

On another night at the Mad Hatter he plays again. Only this time it's darker and secrets are kept hidden. The faeries are dressed in the colors of his songs: red, blue, gold and black. There are little baby fairies tonight. Tonight is the night for the grown folks.
To laugh, to sing, and even hop up on stage.

He twiddles his thumbs faster and faster on his cello until the room is obscured to him.
It's almost as if they all have been transported into  his fantasy world.

The music gets louder, and his fingers move quickly.  The fairies aren't in a trance this time. They are  alive and moving so fast the ground shakes.  He is their joy, their pain, and their fun.  The fairies do not stay innocent with this song, their worries turn to smoke and ash.  They breathe. He plays until the  which could be nights or weeks.

Then the Waning Hour comes, and his fingers finally droop. He finishes, the fairies cheer and fly through the Hidden Door back to the FaerieWorlds Realm. Back to home.
He however stays, and falls asleep.   He sleeps until The Oracle tells him when he is to play again,  and the Four Winds give him wings to soar through the sky again. His gift of music is truly magical and wonderful. If you listen carefully, you can hear his music Unveiling in the night.

All the words in the blog post today are the titles of songs by Adam Hurst, a Faerieworlds cello player. I first discovered him at Faeriecon East.  He is very talented. His music is intense with beauty and magic. He  truly has the gift of the Fae. Also, Obscura  is the Album in which all of the songs mentioned in this blog post are on. If your interested in his music: http://www.worldcello.com/index.html or come to Faeriecon East or West 2014!

The quote Fame isn't everything is from Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone.
